About
Née (French for “born”)
Née represents the born again nature of repurposing used materials - and as a play on 'nee Knee'
(my maiden name is Knee).
Founded by me (Lisa Bayford), Née blends craftsmanship, sewing and embroidery with sustainability. Repairing worn clothes, alternating to fit and creating slow-fashion through upcycled and existing materials, to create wearables that matter to you and to the planet.
Everything is made using sustainably sourced materials to reduce waste of unused and discarded materials. One off garments can be stitched from reclaimed fabrics such as clothes, vintage linen, scraps and deadstock materials, reimagined or repaired to create ‘new’ clothing and accessories.
Our aim is to take what has been discarded, forgotten, or overlooked and give it new form and a new life, with a reduced impact on our lives.
I have forty plus years of dressmaking and tailoring designs to help me to create something completely unique for you. With a background in photography, bookbinding and embroidery I am able to offer a range of services to help you treasure what is important to you.
