Floral Cotton Dress Transformation

A customer asked for the puffy sleeves to be removed and replaced with wide straps.

The bodice of the dress was shirred and when I started to unpick the sleeves I found the shirring was finished off within the overlocked sleeve seam. So to ensure the shirring did not unravel I used the sleeve edge to create a bias strip around the underarm of the dress and shorted bodice, then added the straps (made from the remaining sleeve fabric) to the reverse of the bodice.
