Red Sequin Prom Dress
A slinky red sequin dress with a front split, small train, side sash and bustier style bodice with corset back, which needed to be shortened and have a couple of inches removed on the back waist.
There were thin darts on the back waist, which were adjusted to remove an additional 2" and same gaping from the original fit. This was edged with piping as the open corset sat above the back waist seam, so I unpacked the piping and removed the excess at the edges, so there was no bulkiness in the edging.
The skirt hem was just altered at the front and tapered to the side seams, but checking the split matched and finished by hand to ensure there was no damage to the delicate stretch sequin fabric.
The sash needed 8" removing to the clients desired length, which gave a little surplus fabric - this was re-purposed to make a matching wristlet clutch bag (using remnants from my stash to make the lining.
