Paris Tissus and Mercerie shopping

We took a few days away for a summer break in Paris, which gave me the chance to explore some of the haberdashery and fabric shops.

Here's a sample of where and what I could not resist:
Staring in Montmartre, near the base of the Sacre Ceour there are lots of shops dedicated to fabric, haberdashery, upholstery etc. My favourite here was Tissus Reine for the variety, clear labelling of content and choice of eco friendly fabrics.

It's quite scary though to consider the sheer volume of what is here and how much of this may never be used, potentially adding to the textile waste mountain.

Moving on I wanted to visit Dam Bouton, also in Montmartre. I charming little shop with a friendly owner, dog and wide selection of buttons and buckles.

Another day on our way towards Rue de Rivoli we 'coincidently' passed Ultramodern, a very old haberdashery shop with vintage and modern pieces, all stored in the original displays. From embroidered edgings to crystal buttons, heaven.
