Happi Alteration and custom sash belt

A client had an Happi jacket brought in Japan some time ago, loved and worn, but in need of a few adjustments to refresh and personalise, plus he requested a custom sash belt to tie over the jacket around the waist.

Adjustments included mending a couple of very small holes in the material, adding shoulder pads and lengthening the sleeves.

Luckily, he also had a coordinating pair of shorts (which he didn't wear), and I could use these to cover the shoulder pads and make the belt. Belt was reinforced with tailors canvas on the inside and finished with ties (made using the waist ties of the shorts).

To finish both jacket and belt were re-dyed in intense black, to make them look good as new.
