Two unworn dresses into One

I had two dresses, one navy linen with an accentuated dropped hem at the back (which would be fine if I was taller than 5'2") and a navy and white slip dress made several years ago from a lovely cotton lawn (sadly no longer fits).

So I cut off the dropped hem at the back to level off the Navy dress, and cut up the printed cotton lawn fabric to create a ruffle, adding a little fun to an otherwise plain and simple dress.

Now I am wondering if I need another ruffle, in another fabric slightly higher also?
